Three phenonmenal uses for sweet potato
Sweet potatoe is a common vegetable food source, belonging to the family of rhizomes, though many countries and regions regard it as cereals. It has numerous eating options; it can be grilled, cooked, steamed, fried, when ready its fragrant delights the senses. Sweet potatoe is neither cold or hot in nature, it is suitable for cold and hot constitution individuals to consume.
(1) First great usage: develops the spleen, aids digestion, improves intestinal peristalsis, clears constipation: if you have a sluggish intestinal peristalsis, incomplete bowel movement, little or dry stools, or no improvement to bowel movements through consumption of roughage, you should eat sweet potatoe, at least once a meal of a day should have sweet potatoe as the main dish, it is best cooked for excellent results.
(2) Second great usage: sweet potatoe is a great food for nourishing the qi, it is rich in Vitamins C and E, (even at high temperatures these vitamins are not easily denatured), it raises the body’s immune system and has antiviral properties, delay senescence, improves sexual needs. Therefore I suggest: those with weakened constitution, frequent getting colds should consume moderate quantity; those who are frequently under pressure should also consume moderate quantity
(3) Third great usage: modern scientific research shows sweet potatoe is able to provide the human body with ample mucous, these mucous is able to protect the respiratory system, digestive system and osteoarthritic constitution, stimulates lubricative and anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore those with chronic dry cough or throat should consume moderately; those with stiff joints leading to poor mobility, those with stiff and tighten joints should consume moderately. 4) Cautionary note: sweet potatoe is a nutritious food, one critical note: should not consume too much at one sitting, or else it will lead to upper abdominal bloating, if after a meal the abdominal does not feel bloated then the quantity consumed is adequate.
